It's been a minute since you last saw Avril Lavigne on a red carpet, as the singer has been laying low for the last few years following her 2014 Lyme Disease diagnosis.
But on Friday, Lavigne made her first red carpet appearance in two years — and she looked amazing.
Lavigne attended the 25th Annual Race To Erase MS Gala in Beverly Hills, California, an event that is particularly important to her as she sits on the organization's board of directors, she told Entertainment Tonight.
"When I first met Nancy Davis [the chairman of the organization], working with her ... inspired me to start my own foundation, The Avril Lavigne Foundation, with people with special needs and serious illness," she told ET.
The event has taken on a whole new meaning since she was diagnosed with Lyme Disease.
"So, it's been years," she said. "Since then, I've actually got Lyme disease, so it's actually been a few years since I've been able to make it to the gala. So tonight, I'm here and I'm feeling much better ... All around, it's more meaningful for me to be here."

But now, Lavigne is in a good place in terms of her health, she told ET. "I'm feeling a lot better," she said. "It's been a long time."
The star is not only back on the red carpet, but she's also back to making music.
"For me to be able to be here and I'm making a record right now. I have my life back which is amazing," she said. "It's something I continue to work at every day. And just, like, grateful to be making music. I've written a really powerful record, really emotional album sort of reflecting where I am today."
The singer said her new album will come out this year.
"I'm going to release that this year. I'm actually going to be done in two weeks," she said of her upcoming album. "I mean, I write all of my songs and I always have, and these songs are different," she adds. "I'm just sort of writing about what I'm going through now."
Fans are thrilled to hear that Lavigne is feeling well enough to be back at it.

Here's to hoping her new album will be just as angsty as the ones we knew and loved in the early 2000s.
